Porcelain figurine "Where are you going, Yavtush?" (Korosten)

Product description:
A rare collectible porcelain figurine "Where are you going, Yavtush?", made in the best traditions of Ukrainian Soviet small plastic arts. Bright hand-painted overglaze, juicy orange accents, signature underglaze cobalt and elegant gilding (chandelier) make the figurine an expressive example of ethnic style in porcelain.

Story and authorship:
•Author of the work: Outstanding Ukrainian sculptor-porcelain artist, chief artist of the Korosten factory - Valentina Mykhailivna Tregubova (Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR and laureate of the Shevchenko Prize).
•Historical plot: The sculptural composition is based on the famous Ukrainian folk humorous song "Where are you going, Yavtush? Where are you going, my friend?". The figurine recreates a humorous scene: the cunning Yavtukh tries to secretly ride a horse to the market, but a clever girl-godmother shoots him on the way and persistently asks for a ride. The work perfectly conveys the lively folk character, conquers with dynamics and the signature soft irony inherent in Valentina Tregubova's small sculptures.

Characteristics and attribution:
•Exact catalog name: "Where are you going, Yavtush?" (there is also a part of the general composition called "To the fair").
•Manufacturer: Korosten Porcelain Factory (Ukrainian SSR, Korosten).
•Period of creation: 1960s - 1970s.
•Material: Hard porcelain, cobalt, overglaze paints, gold.
•Marking: The bottom of the product has the original green factory mark (the letter "K" in a frame) and the authentic factory price of the Soviet period - "5r-20k" (5 rubles 20 kopecks). The green color of the marking indicates the 2nd grade of the product.
•Approximate dimensions: Height - about 15.3–16 cm, length - about 16 cm.

Condition of the item:
The figurine is in good condition. No restorations, glues or through-going damage. On the lower part of the cart body (around the technological hole at the bottom) there is a natural network of small surface cracks in the glaze (craquelure). This nuance does not affect the strength of the porcelain base itself and is fully taken into account in the value of the item.
