  • Composition

A rare and exceptionally vibrant find for admirers of Ukrainian ethnic decor: a vintage, zoomorphic, artistic majolica candlestick.

The composition centers on a deep, round bowl with a decorative, carved rim. Rising from the center is a tall, cylindrical holder for a single candle, flanked symmetrically by two elegant handles—masterfully sculpted to resemble the heads and necks of horses. The piece gains a striking decorative quality from the hand-sculpted, three-dimensional manes, which cascade in lush waves along the edges of the bowl. The entire object is coated in a thick, rich, dark-brown glaze that creates an incredible mirror-like sheen and glossy, flowing drips.

In traditional Ukrainian symbolism, the horse is associated with the sun, movement, and vital energy. This authentic candlestick serves as a striking focal point for a modern interior—fitting perfectly into Ethno, Boho, Rustic, or Mid-Century Modern design styles. It is a collectible piece with a soul and a rich history.
