Vintage Ceramic Three-Arm Candlestick "Lions" (Opishnia, majolica, 1970s–1980s)

A rare three-arm candlestick representing a masterpiece of Ukrainian zoomorphic ceramics. The piece was crafted by artisans from the legendary pottery center of Opishnia in a distinctive Baroque style.
The candlestick’s composition is deeply symbolic: at its base are monumental guardian lions supporting a branching stem, an allusion to the archaic "Tree of Life" motif. Every detail—from the beasts' textured, curly manes and fierce, open maws to the ornamented candle holders—was created through hand-modeling and applied relief decoration.
The piece is finished with a rich glaze featuring a magnificent color transition: a deep terracotta-brown flows smoothly into shades of emerald and olive, creating a unique, glossy sheen.
This candlestick is not merely a functional lighting accessory but a standalone work of collectible art that adds character, elegance, and warmth to a modern interior.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition suitable for a collection. No restorations or cracks. It exhibits a natural, refined craquelure (glaze crazing)—a characteristic feature of antique majolica that attests to its age.
