Made in the period from 1956 to 1972 at the famous Polonskyi Art Ceramics Factory (PZKHK).
Basic information about the figurine
• Name: "Girl with a Kumanets" (sometimes called "Festive Kumanets").
• Author of the work: Mykola Bobyk (M. F. Bobyk).
• Plot: The figurine depicts a Ukrainian girl in traditional national dress (bright embroidery, red corset, white apron with ornament and green checkered skirt), who holds a Kumanets - a traditional Ukrainian ceramic vessel for drinks.
• Features: The figurine has characteristic hand-made underglaze and overglaze painting, as well as gilding of details.
• Height: Usually about 17.5 - 18 cm. This product is a classic example of Ukrainian Soviet porcelain of the second half of the 20th century and has a collector's value among connoisseurs of vintage ceramics. A blue mark in the form of a swan, which belonged to the Polonskyi Plant of Artistic Ceramics (PZKHK). What this mark tells about the figurine: • Production period: The mark with a swan was used at the plant from 1973 to 1992 (sometimes until the early 2000s). • Product grade: Next to the swan is a blue inscription "2s", which means 2nd grade. According to Soviet standards, the grade of porcelain was determined by the color of the mark itself: 1st grade products were marked in red, and 2nd grade - in blue. • Technological marking: The red numbers at the top (applied manually above the glaze) are the factory's internal technological markings (shop number, shift or painter's code).
