Opishnya ceramic lembik (kumanets/shtof) in the shape of a lion

Opishnya ceramic lembyk (kumanets/shtof) in the form of a lion is a rare collector's item of Ukrainian zoomorphic ware of museum level. The product was made in the village of Opishnya (Poltava region), which is a world-famous center of traditional pottery. The approximate period of creation is the 1960s–1970s (production of the Khudozhniy Keramik factory or the author's handmade work of famous masters). Due to its significant dimensions and complete set, the item has high collection and artistic value.

Detailed product description
•Material and technique: Red clay, hand-sculpting, decoration with textured molded elements (curls). The product is covered with a thick highly artistic glaze (majolica) of a rich dark brown, almost chocolate shade with a glossy shine.
•Artistic features: The sculpture is made in an authentic ethnic style. The lion has an expressive silhouette with a high-raised head, a stylized lush mane decorated with rhythmic curls, and an elegantly curved tail that serves as a convenient handle.
•Purpose: A large decorative sculpture and at the same time a traditional festive tableware (shtof/lembyk) for serving and storing strong drinks. It will become a monumental accent in a modern interior or a pearl of a collection of Ukrainian majolica.
