We offer an exclusive rarity of Ukrainian decorative art and a famous collectible - a vintage zoomorphic lembik (figurative decorative tableware) in the form of a steep-horned ram.
The product is an authentic masterpiece of the famous Vasylkiv majolica factory (VMZ). The shape was developed within the legendary series "Good Animals" by outstanding ceramist artists, classics of Ukrainian majolica - Nadia and Valery Protoriev.
The body of the product clearly preserves a rare embossed factory mark - "Vasylkiv Sun" of the 1963-1974 model. The presence of this original stamp in the clay mass undoubtedly confirms the item's belonging to the most valuable, early period of the factory and makes it a liquid object for investment.
Artistic and constructive features:
• Iconic plastic: The figure of a ram is skillfully stylized. Massive twisted horns form a characteristic swirling element on the head, and the tail turns into an elegant functional handle. Traditionally, this image serves as a powerful folk amulet for the home, a symbol of prosperity and strength.
• Recognizable coloring: The sculpture is covered with a branded poured glaze (glaze). The juicy emerald-green color smoothly transitions into a warm honey-yellow tone in the back of the body, creating unique "watercolor" stains.
• Textured relief: The entire body of the animal is covered with branded voluminous molded "curls" (scales), which flawlessly convey thick wool and effectively play with light and shade on a glossy surface.
