We present an authentic masterpiece of Ukrainian artistic ceramics of the mid-20th century - a decorative lembyk (jug/shtof) in the form of a ram. The product was created at the legendary Vasylkiv majolica factory approximately in the 1950s–1960s according to the canonical and recognizable design of the Honored Master of Folk Art of the Ukrainian SSR Omelyan Zheleznyak. Due to its rare large dimensions (standard circulation figures of this author usually have a height of up to 19–22 cm)
Detailed characteristics and artistic features
•Dimensions: format - about 22 cm in height and 23 cm in length, expressive sculpture.
•Authorship and design: The shape was developed by Omelyan Zheleznyak. The figure is given special dynamics by the sculptural relief twisted horns and textured modeling of wool with "smushki", which reproduces traditional Ukrainian pottery motifs.
•Coating: Thick, shiny majolica glaze of a deep dark brown (chocolate) shade with characteristic soft color transitions.
•Complete set: Complete. The original ceramic cork (which is a rarity, since they were often lost) has been preserved and is included.
•Purpose: Monumental zoomorphic plastic, which once served as a festive vessel for serving wine or strong drinks, and today acts as a luxurious accent in a modern ethnic interior.
Condition of the product
Collection preservation. The product is completely intact, without any restorations, hidden cracks, gluing or chips. The glaze has a noble, uniform age-related craquelure (a fine mesh on the glaze), which confirms the respectable age of the product and adds antique charm.
